The charm of the early 20th-century decor wowed me! The location is perfect for exploring Union Square, but the shower had inconsistent water temperature. 💧

missingWrote a review on Dec 07historic charm
The historic feel of this place is much more interesting than any modernized chain hotel. Every morning, I’d wake up to the sound of those lively cable cars – it’s like the city has its own heartbeat. Plus, the bed was incredible, felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The staff was also super friendly, always quick to help whenever I needed something.
It wasn’t exactly a bargain, but still acceptable given the location.

A lively atmosphere pulsates throughout the hotel, underscoring its vibrant history. The gothic-themed decor creates a unique visual experience, making you feel like you're part of an old San Francisco tale.
The room I stayed in had centralized heating that couldn't be adjusted—made things toasty during January. The shower water temperatures were unpredictable. one moment it’s frigid, the next it's scorching. And there's no breakfast provided on-site. it would be great to grab a decent meal without having to wander in search of coffee and pastries.

Our stay was fantastic! The hotel's location was perfect for exploring SF. The complimentary coffee and biscuits made our mornings brighter. My kids loved riding the historic cable car, and the staff were friendly, making it easy to store our bags while we wandered around.
My wife says that the room felt a bit cramped for our big family. It would be great if there were more storage options for families with kids.

missingWrote a review on Nov 25vintage elevatorspublic transport accessroom temperature
The vintage elevators add a charming touch to the experience, which is a nice nod to the building's history. Convenient access to public transport makes getting around a breeze, and being close to Union Square opens up a variety of dining and shopping options right outside the door.
The room felt cramped, squeezing in essentials without much space to move. Dim lighting made it tough to see, especially near the mirror. Shower temp was unpredictable, with water fluctuating from hot to cold at times. The heater couldn't be turned off, making the room quite stifling, despite the fact that my stay was in January. Plus, a lack of any breakfast service meant missing out on an easy morning meal, which could have started the day off right.

The Kensington Park offers a unique charm with its early 20th-century decor and brass fixtures. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to assist with my needs, including setting up my presentation equipment. The location is ideal, just a short walk from Union Square, making it convenient for both business and leisure activities.

definitely coming here again
Great location near Union Square with easy access to transport and lots of restaurants around. My room had a cozy design with a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, and reliable Wi-Fi. The complimentary evening sherry in the lobby was a nice touch. Also enjoyed the vintage elevators that added character to the place.

The location next to Union Square provided easy access to many attractions. A delightful touch was enjoying homemade preserves at breakfast, along with the comfortable beds that made for a restful stay. However, the room lacked air conditioning, and while a ceiling fan was available, it might not be sufficient in warmer weather. Also, the absence of a kettle initially was inconvenient, but staff responded promptly with one upon request.

We loved our stay! The location was perfect for exploring the city. We took a ride on the historic cable car, and it was such a fun experience. Special shoutout to David for always taking great care of us during our time with the family.
My kids wished there were more family-friendly dining options available nearby.

Oh man, the food scene nearby is fire! Scala's Bistro served some bomb French pastry that had me swooning. Plus, the location was stellar, just a stone's throw from Union Square and killer cafes. And the staff? Super chill and quick to hook me up with a coffee machine when I asked—score!
I didn't realize there was no AC, but I rolled with my mini fan (must-have! ). The windows could've used screens, and the overhead fan was a bit chatty, but nothing too wild. Still could've used a second trashcan for my snacks!

Kensington Park offers a charming stay near Union Square. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making my business trip enjoyable. The room on the 10th floor was cozy, well-appointed, and provided a great view of the city. Additionally, the water dispenser on the ground floor was a nice touch for hydration throughout the day.
The heating system was centralized and could not be adjusted.
